Gisele received her degrees in fine art and graphic design from Indiana University. Post graduate studies in interior design at J.FK. University and U.C. Berkeley began her 25 year career as an interior designer in the San Francisco Bay area. Her extensive experience with space planning was further enhanced while managing trade showrooms at the S.F. Design Center. Creating custom case goods, upholstery and drapery for her wholesale clients gradually turned into a full-blown interior design business, specializing in whole house remodeling.

Gisele's client base grew quickly, all through referrals. Her projects have covered a broad spectrum of requirements from high style contemporary condominiums to Berkeley bungalows, to French Country chateau, French Tudor, Craftsman restorations, to an Art Deco bachelor pad. She has worked for corporate clientele - furnishing law firms, restaurants, and a well known day spa.

An early proponent of environmentally sensitive building techniques Gisele employees conservation, restoration and the use of sustainable materials in her work as a designer and while as an urban planner for the Design Review of the City of Half Moon Bay, south of San Francisco. While drafting and designing facades and space plans for a large custom home firm in New Orleans, and drafting for several architects, there and in the S.F. Bay area, Gisele also began collecting and restoring antiques, eventually opening her fist retail shop called Jacqueline Charlier Antiques and Imports.

A natural instructor Gisele has also taught drafting and design at The Art Institute and now conducts interior design seminars for the home improvement enthusiast. She has also done set designs for theatre, opera productions and documentary film.
